> Research Interests:
Expression, development and implementation of generic protocols for large-scale purification, and crystallization of membrane proteins; Development of fast, inexpensive techniques for the quantitative exchange of detergents used for the solubilization and purification of membrane proteins; Investigation of the effects of commonly encountered impurities on various membrane protein crystallization strategies (vapor diffusion, lipidic-cubic phase, microfluidic approaches, etc.); Examination of the use of complex fluids, comprised of a saturated phospholipid, a polymer, and a co-surfactant, for the purpose of storing and transporting membrane protein samples.
