Molecular Environmental Science
One of the main foci during the creation and growth of the Molecular Environmental Science Group has been the development of an internationally recognized integrated multidisciplinary scientific team focused on the investigation of fundamental biogeochemical questions. Read more

   
> Terrestrial Ecology
Our studies in terrestrial ecology focus on (1) the role of belowground mechanisms in controlling plant adaptations to environmental change, (2) the carbon sink strength of soils under elevated concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide, and (3) methods for enhancing natural carbon sequestration by terrestrial ecosystems. > Microbiology
Part of the research of the Microbiology Group focuses on developing new expression vectors and culture methods for the production of proteins for structure determination as part of an NIH-funded in structural biology center, the Midwest Center for Structural Genomics. Read more
